 The strongest benefit we see in using VEX robots is the innovation and creativity. While the Lego bots can be adapted and modified to make new types, the VEX is the first level where students might actually need to create new parts for a specific task.
These robots are a great tool for demonstrating basic engineering concepts such as gear ratios, torque, and more.
While these robots are no longer the core of the FIRST Tech Challenge, we will still use them for years because they provide such an active outlet for our young engineering minds! |
