FIRST Team 1771

The annual US FIRST Robotics Competition is the "big daddy" of high school robotics.

TEAM!  Fill out your info on this online form:

On the first Saturday of January, thousands of students and their mentors await the "kickoff": the NASA-satellite broadcast of the task our robots must accomplish.  Every team around the world has the same basic kit of parts and rules, and the same 6-weeks to conceive of and build their robot for the task.  Then, FedEx comes to take their robot away, and we don't see it again until the competitions.

Most teams are known by their number, ours is 1771.  We also go by the name "The Unknown Error", for reasons you'd have to experience.

This contest an amazing combination of programming, engineering, learning, sharing, teamwork, project management and so much more.  Students and mentors work every day (including weekends) for six weeks, toiling over their creation.

It's been called the "Super Bowl of the Mind", and we invite anyone to join us or their local team.

Our personal team has had great support and mentorship over the years, especially in 2008 when we won the Regional Award from the Delphi Corporation, and the National Award from the Xerox Corporation for innovative engineering.
